It seems like iPhone trade-ins are all the rage across the United States, but starting today, our friends across the pond can get into the action by taking their unloved handset to their nearest Apple retail store.
Engadget reported Monday that Apple's in-store trade-in program has hopped across the pond to the United Kingdom, where owners of older hardware can now pop into a brick-and-mortar store and dispose of it in favor of a credit toward the latest and greatest model.
"iPhones hold great value. So, Apple Retail Stores in the UK are launching a new program to assist customers who wish to bring in their previous-generation iPhone for reuse or recycling," Apple said in a statement that echoes the existing U.S. offering.
"In addition to helping support the environment, customers will be able to receive a credit for their returned phone that they can use toward the purchase of a new iPhone."
Exactly how much U.K. customers can get for their old device will vary, but thankfully Apple has posted a handy Reuse and Recycling page on their British website to get some idea before heading out to the store.
Update:9to5Mac is reporting that Apple stores in Germany are also now accepting in-store trade-ins as well.
